Revolutionizing Vinyl—Sonopress Leads the Charge with EcoRecords

The vinyl revolution has taken a surprising eco-friendly turn, led by Sonopress, a proud member of the Vinyl Record Manufacturing Association (VRMA) and an architect in sustainable music production. With its innovative injection molding process using PET, Sonopress has not only revitalized how records are made but also positioned itself as a key player in the vinyl industry's sustainability movement.

Scaling Up Production

This year marked a significant milestone for the company. By adding another PET injection molding machine, Sonopress has doubled its production capacity to an impressive 2 million units annually. The expansion is part of the company’s strategy to meet increasing global demand for its EcoRecords, which are gaining popularity among artists, labels, and eco-conscious consumers alike.

On December 10, Sonopress hosted ambassadors from 12 European countries at its facility to showcase its newly developed EcoRecord machines. The event underscored the company’s commitment to international collaboration and innovation in sustainable manufacturing.

Looking Ahead

The future looks even brighter for Sonopress, with plans to expand its production capacity to 5 million EcoRecords by the end of next year. A particular focus will be on the North American market, where vinyl’s resurgence has shown no signs of slowing down.

Big Hits and Billboard Success

Sonopress also celebrated a major cultural milestone with the release of Coldplay’s new album Moon Music. Produced entirely as EcoRecords, the album soared to the top of the Billboard charts, marking a testament to the growing appeal of environmentally friendly vinyl.

Beyond vinyl, the company made headlines in the optical disc sector by producing the first-ever EcoCD. This groundbreaking product is crafted from 90% recycled polycarbonate, setting a new standard for sustainability in the industry.

Optical Disc Division Surges

The year was also strong for Sonopress’s Optical Disc division, which produced over 110 million discs, reaffirming its leadership in physical media manufacturing.

As Sonopress gears up to meet the demands of an increasingly green-conscious market, it continues to prove that innovation and sustainability can harmonize, delivering music in ways that resonate far beyond sound.
